A Post Script from Chris Blick - an UNEXPECTED BENEFIT!
Following a burglary, when my briefcase was stolen containing my work diary/day book, I needed to rebuild my records, and the Four Four Time software enabled me to achieve this very efficiently.
It took little more than half an hour to generate the day reports from 1 January 2005 to 4 March 2005 creating a replica diary/day book.
This type of data retrieval is invaluable, and is a feature of Four Four Time which has proved to be very desirable.

The Four Four timer has become part of my daily routine. It's straightforward and simple to use, and does exactly what I want it to. I can record all my chargeable time on any particular job in the most accurate and hassle-free way, whether it's in small increments or large chunks, and I can also switch between jobs instantly, timing all the way.
This is hugely beneficial. It means I can assess accurately how long a job has actually taken, rather than use my own best guess and unreliable memory! Thus on hourly rate jobs I can charge my time knowing that I am not under or over.
I can also refer to reports of past jobs when quoting up-front on projects of a similar nature, allowing me to be confident that I'm not going to under or over estimate the time it will take. This means I can achieve a fair balance between not over charging to the detriment of my clients and not under charging to the detriment of my cash flow.
It's much easier and more accurate than recording on paper, and because of this I'm sure that my Four Four timer will pay for itself many times over in the future.

Having never used any timing software, I was unsure of the benefits that I would gain from the Four Four Timer. As a university student, I do not have clients to meet, or important meetings to attend.
However, I do have a large number of deadlines to meet, often occurring within days of each other, and I need to be able to manage my time effectively. The timer has proved an invaluable piece of software for me. I can chart how long I have spent on research for various essays. I also now have a very clear idea of how long it takes me to do an essay, so I allow enough time to finish things without too much of the deadline panic!
Another benefit of the timer came when I decided to find out the amount of time I spend doing various “non-curricula” activities, whether it be talking on the phone, surfing the internet, or meeting friends. Although I have a good social life, the timer has revealed that perhaps I need to spend a little more time on my studies….!
All in all, the timer has had nothing but a positive effect on my time management, and its ease to use means I would recommend it to anyone.

I have been building websites now for over 10 years and the biggest problem
I have always encountered is billing the client or quoting the expected price, but with Four Four Time you see exactly how long your projects take, and are able to provide your client with a full print out of everything you have done on their site or project.
I feel that the software has more than paid for itself with just my last project 56 hours logged to my last site for which I would normally have charged for
40 hours work. I cannot recommend this software enough. Well done guys!!
